A Breast Augmentation increases the size of a breast and can be performed with a silicone or saline implant. If a breast lift is required, Dr. Anton performs his signature Super Breast Lift to address sagging, drooping breast, and repositioning of the nipple areolar complex. A Super Breast Lift can be performed with a Breast Augmentation, Breast Revision or Reduction.
A Super Breast Lift is a triple dermal lift that includes an internal dermal sling which acts like a support bra. Externally, excess tissue is removed from the lower breast pole to tighten and lift while the nipple areolar complex is raised and if necessary resized.
A Super Breast Lift not only produces a better shape that holds longer than other breast lifts, it is a NO DRAIN breast lift. Having no post-operative drains makes recovery more convenient and comfortable for patients and safer, as bacteria cannot enter the body through a drain.
ABDOMINAL SURGERY
The other half of mommy makeover surgery addresses the stomach. This can be done with a tummy tuck or liposuction.

CONSULTATION, PREPARATION & PROCEDURE
During your initial consultation for a Mommy Makeover, Dr. Anton will evaluate you as a candidate for the procedure. A customized surgical plan of body contouring procedures that meets your goals will also be created at this time.
Regarding your Breast Augmentation, you will discuss your preference for the size you want to achieve. Before surgery, you will be given instructions and exercises to help you determine the breast size you feel most comfortable with. This is a personal, individualized process for each patient.
When addressing the issues concerning the abdomen, Dr. Anton will assess the quality of your abdominal skin, muscles, any existing abdominal scars, and how much excess fat your carry. He will suggest a tummy tuck when there is diastasis recti (muscle separation) or excess skin. When a C-Section scar is present, it can often be used as the incision site, elongating the incision on each side. Excess fat can be addressed with Curved Liposuction, assuming the skin has “snap” and is taut.
Incisions for an abdominoplasty are strategically placed and very well concealed when wearing a bathing suit or undergarments. The amount of abdominal skin and tissue will determine if you are a good candidate for a full or modified Abdominoplasty. A full Abdominoplasty has an incision in the lower abdomen area that runs from hip to hip. Another incision is also made around the navel to reposition the belly button and remove any loose skin around it.
This incision heals well and is deep inside the belly button and almost impossible to see once the area has healed. A modified Tummy Tuck requires a smaller incision in the lower abdomen area and often does not require an incision around the belly button. Some stretch marks are removed in both types of procedures.
MOMMY MAKEOVER RECOVERY
A Mommy Makeover is performed in an accredited outpatient facility under general anesthesia using board-certified anesthesiologists. When you wake up from surgery you will be wearing a compression garment around your tummy for support.
Incisions are covered with surgical tape and are absorbed by the body over time. Mommy makeover surgery patients are advised to spend their first night in an after-care facility.
For moms with young children, these restrictions can mean needing a mother’s helper or a very attentive partner for the first several weeks after surgery while you recover. Pain during the recovery process is manageable with prescribed medications and typically subsides between 5-7 days. Additionally, an intra-operative pain management medication is administered to numb the treated area for up to 4 days after surgery and dramatically reduces post-op pain. It is very important to follow all post-operative instructions to minimize complications and risks.
After two weeks of recovery time, you can change your abdominal binder to a support garment like Spanx that is to be worn for up to six weeks. Prepare for downtime before surgery by having some healthy, pre-cooked meals on hand, picking up all your prescriptions, and putting yourself in the “self-care” frame of mind makes it easier to honor your body’s healing period. Immediately after your Mommy Makeover surgery you will see results and feel like you’ve got your pre-baby body back, maybe even better than before. Continual and subtle improvements will be noticeable for up to a year post-operatively. By then scars are barely visible, although each patient heals differently depending on skin type and genetics.
There are many options including a certified caregiver that comes to your home or hotel if you are from out of town. For moms especially, it is important to have your first night away from home so that you can be taken care of and not worry about taking care of others.
