63 year-old Orange County mom gets total facial rejuvenation for son’s weddingFacelift Recovery

This patient desired a total facial rejuvenation. She complained of signs of facial aging and wanted to look refreshed for her son’s upcoming wedding. She also wanted to improve her chin and profile. Dr. Anton suggested a facelift, upper and lower blepharoplasty, chin implant, and skin resurfacing.

During surgery, Dr. Anton places a small implant in the patient’s chin to create better facial balance and symmetry. To lift and tighten loose and sagging tissues in the neck, jowl and mid face, he dissected the (SMAS) Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System. The SMAS is a thick, fibrous tissue below the skin’s surface that when re-positioned creates a very natural looking facelift. Once Dr. Anton lifts and sutures the SMAS into place, he re-drapes the skin and sutures it back into place. He sutures around and behind the ears for a minimal scar result. He applies FaceTite radio frequency technology to further tighten tissues around the mouth and mid face area. Additional facial contouring was achieved with face liposuction and fat transfer to the cheeks.

The excess skin from the patient’s upper and lower eyelids was removed to create a natural, more youthful appearance. To address hollowness under the patient’s eyes, Dr. Anton re-positioned the fat pad under her eyes.  Fractora and CO2 laser combined to improve overall skin texture, address fine lines and wrinkles, deep wrinkles and stimulate collagen and elastin.

After her total facial rejuvenation surgery the patient spent the night in an after care facility. Drains from her neck and facelift were removed the next morning. She had very little swelling and minimal bruising. Other than slight tenderness behind her ears, she reported no pain. Sutures were removed 7 days post op.

The patient attended her son’s wedding less than three months after her total facial rejuvenation surgery. Her scars were so minimal that she could wear her hair up for the big day. Her results were so natural that no one suspected she’d had a facelift. Following surgery the patient has had one additional in-office fat transfer for more volume in her cheek area.
