59 year-old maintains youthful beauty with secondary neck and face lift

10 years after her first neck and face lift surgery with Board Certified Plastic Surgeon of Newport Beach, Dr. Mark Anton, this patient wanted to refresh her look. A believer in “doing things before I need it,” she wanted to address some skin laxity in her neck and jowl area. After consulting with Dr. Anton in his Newport Beach office, she decided the time was right for a secondary neck and face lift.

During surgery, Dr. Anton performed a Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System (SMAS) neck and face lift procedure to address loose and sagging tissue in the patient’s lower face, neck, and mid-face area. The SMAS is a thick, fibrous tissue that is dissected then lifted to create a very natural looking facelift. Once Dr. Anton sutures the SMAS into place, he drapes and excises the excess skin before suturing around and behind the ears. This creates a minimal scar neck and face lift result.

The patient reported virtually no bruising and minimal swelling immediately following surgery. Sutures were removed after one week.
