PHOTOFACIAL
Skin is the largest organ in the body. It tells the story of the life we have lived. As we age, more of our story gets revealed in skin irregularities like uneven pigment and fine lines.
IPL or BBL uses a spectrum of light waves that pass through the skin to treat skin tone and texture. The light energy is absorbed by the pigment cells which causes them to break down and produce new, healthy pigment cells, leaving skin looking fresh and bright. Photofacials have also been shown to reduce aging by changing the RNA of skin cells over time to turn off the cells that cause damage and promote the aging process.

For light, fair, and medium skin types.
BENEFITS OF PHOTOFACIAL
There will be a significant improvement after just one treatment. Residual pigmentation
imperfections are targeted with the second and third treatments.
It is important to complete a minimum of 3 Photofacial treatment sessions for maximum and longest-lasting results, though visible, significant changes may not appear as they did initially.
After the six to eight-week treatment period, your skin will appear noticeably brighter, with a more even, clearer complexion and refined pores. Achieving a more radiant, even skin tone dramatically reduces the visible signs of aging, leaving your skin looking and feeling younger, fresher, and more vibrant.
After the final treatment, when optimal results are achieved, your new younger-looking skin can stay that way for years to come. Of course, the aging process never stops!
To maintain the great results, you get with Photofacials, limit sun exposure, protect your skin with a physical sunblock, use the CORE skincare products daily at home, and sign up to become a Beauty Bank member and get the lasting benefits of Photofacials all year long!

IDEAL CANDIDATES
Skin types I-IV on the Fitzpatrick Scale are the best candidates for Photofacial Treatments.
Ideal candidates are men and women with light to olive and dark olive skin tones looking to correct or prevent signs of aging such as hyperpigmentation, dark spots, rosacea, crêpey skin, large pores, fine lines, and deeper wrinkles.
Photofacials are suitable for people with active, outdoor lifestyles who are looking to maintain their youth. Home care is essential so the ideal patient will comply with daily sunscreen use and home skin care protocols.
CONSULTATION, PREPARATION & PROCEDURE
Before treatment, you will meet with one of our skincare experts to determine if you are a candidate and the number of treatments needed for desired results. The treated area can be numbed with a topical numbing cream for 30 minutes before the treatment begins.
Together, we’ll create a personalized treatment plan, including the number of treatments required to achieve optimal results for concerns like age spots, sun-damaged skin, and uneven pigmentation.
To prepare for your treatment, we recommend avoiding direct sunlight, tanning beds, and self-tanning products for at least two weeks before your session to prevent any complications. If necessary, topical numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area to minimize discomfort.
During the procedure, a specialized device emits pulses of light that target brown spots, blood vessels, and areas of skin discoloration. You may feel a mild sensation similar to a rubber band snapping against your skin. A Zimmer cooler is on hand if needed for additional comfort. The entire treatment takes about 20-45 minutes, depending on the area being treated.
The treatment is generally well tolerated, with most patients experiencing little to no discomfort during or after the session. IPL offers a non-invasive option to improve the appearance of skin, stimulate collagen production, and address common skin concerns, leaving you with noticeably smoother, more youthful-looking skin.
Sunscreen must be worn at all times during and after recovery whenever skin is exposed to sunlight, including indirect sunlight such as driving.

PHOTOFACIAL RECOVERY
There is minimal downtime with a Photofacial treatment and no pain post procedure. Many patients work their Photofacial appointment into lunch hour and return to work the same day.
Your face can be slightly pink for up to 24 hours and although rare, bruising can take 1-2 weeks to resolve. Makeup can be worn the next day. One to five days after treatment, brown granules, like coffee grains, appear on the treated area. These slough off within 5-14 days. Sunscreen must be worn at all times during and after recovery whenever skin is exposed to sunlight, including indirect sunlight such as driving.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
You will notice significant changes after just one treatment. Skin will appear more even. Brown spots will disappear. Rosacea will become less noticeable. Crepey skin will be less noticeable, and the skin will have a healthy glow. For optimal results, three Photofacial treatments scheduled 4-6 weeks apart continue to improve tone and texture.
After three treatments, it is recommended to maintain results with a Photofacial every 4-6 months and follow up at home with a good skincare routine. A brightening product like the CORE Brighten Up daily pads or Smooth as Glass weekly pads will continue to improve the Photofacial results and maintain them longer.
