LaseMD is a minimally invasive, non-ablative fractionated laser that improves skin tone and texture of the face, neck, and decollete. Its Thulium laser technology makes it safe for all skin types and is one of the only lasers that safely and effectively treats melasma.
LaseMD creates tiny thermal holes in the skin prompting the body’s healing response to produce more collagen and elastin. Topical solutions are applied to punctuate the effectiveness of the treatment. Optimal results require a minimum of three treatments and up to six performed 4-6 weeks apart.

LaseMD addresses aging skin, acne scars, uneven pigment, actinic keratosis in the face, neck, and decollete. It is one of the only and best laser treatments for melasma, a skin condition caused largely by stress and other hormones.

This includes fine lines, deep wrinkles, crepey skin, sun damage, skin laxity, large pores, acne scars, melasma, and uneven skin tone. Some medications, lifestyles, and medical conditions may restrict or prohibit treatment. CONSULTATION, PREPARATION & PROCEDURE
Before treatment, you will meet with one of our skincare experts to determine if you are a LaseMD candidate and the number of treatments needed for desired results.
LaseMD is a quick and perfect skin treatment that can be performed with or without numbing cream depending on individual pain tolerance and preference. Each session typically takes about 30 minutes. At the time of your appointment, one of our skincare providers will cleanse the face and degrease it with alcohol pads. If you desire a topical numbing cream, one would be applied for 30 minutes and then removed before beginning the treatment.
During treatment, Thulium energy is delivered through a magnetic roller tracking system in the laser device that creates tiny micro-channels in the skin. A topical solution such as peptides or exosomes is applied to the skin and absorbed through the channels. Most of our Newport Beach LaseMD patients report no pain during or after treatment.
A Zimmer cooler is on hand if needed for additional comfort. Patients are advised not to wear makeup or sunscreen after treatment as the skin is very porous and this allows for the topical solution applied during treatment to penetrate more deeply into the dermis. Note: Patients with a history of cold sores will be proactively treated pre and postoperatively with prescription medication.

LASEMD RECOVERY
The treated area is moderate to significantly red immediately following treatment and can remain so for up to 24 hours post-treatment. Slight swelling can occur but subsides within 1-2 days.
No makeup or sunscreen should be applied until the next morning after treatment. It is important to hydrate the skin sufficiently and not scrub or exfoliate for 5 days following treatment. We recommend drinking water with electrolytes to hydrate the skin from within during the healing process.
The day after LaseMD treatment any residual redness can be covered with a tinted sunscreen like CORE made in the shade, or mineral powder makeup. Sunscreen should be worn at all times during and after recovery when the skin is exposed to sunlight, including indirect sunlight such as driving.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
Three to five days after treatment, you will begin to see improvements in your skin texture and tone. Fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven texture will be softer and less noticeable.
Beneath the surface, the changes are just beginning as collagen and elastin production increases. This will continue to improve the look and feel of your skin. It’s important to keep the skin hydrated with an HA product like CORE raindrops or b-quenched. Patients treating pigment issues are encouraged to apply a brightening product like CORE brighten up pads or Skin Better Even Tone to maintain results. After your series of LaseMD treatments, your skin will be brighter and softer, with fewer pronounced wrinkles. You’ll notice smaller pore size, improved acne scars, even-toned skin, and the overall complexion appears more luminescent.
