While FaceTite has been available in Europe and Canada for many years, it only recently received FDA approval in the states. FaceTite is done in the office under a local anesthetic and requires less downtime than a facelift. The results are dramatic, yet natural. Treated area(s) is numbed with a topical numbing cream for 30 minutes before the treatment begins. During this time, an oral sedative is administered to prepare you for the procedure. Our aesthetic nurse then injects a light sedative before further administering a tumescent anesthetic.
Dr. Anton then creates a small incision at the back of the jawline for the FaceTite probe to be placed beneath the skin. This incision will not require any sutures or leave any scars. Patients find the procedure to be very comfortable.
You do not feel the probe as it moves beneath the surface of the skin, but you will be awake enough to be aware and communicate if necessary. Once Dr. Anton completes the FaceTite, our aesthetic nurse follows up with Fractora for tightening and resurfacing. Following treatment with FaceTite Newport Beach patients will require a driver to safely get them home. The treated area may be pink to slightly red immediately following treatment but typically subsides within an hour.
Significant swelling typically occurs on the second day and can last up to 10 days post-op. Small scabs form where the Fractora needles penetrated the skin and flake off between days 5-10. Our Newport Beach FaceTite patients must wear a headwrap at all times days 1-5 and at night days 5-10 to help reduce swelling. Sunscreen must be worn at all times during and after recovery whenever skin is exposed to sunlight, including indirect sunlight such as driving.
