The actual length of the BB Peel will likely vary for each patient, as it will depend upon the extent of treatment desired. Typically, however, patients can expect to spend anywhere from twenty to thirty minutes.

The BB Peel is done in the office and generally takes no more than thirty minutes. One of our aesthetic nurses compounds your peel solution specific to your skin type and skin goals.
After thoroughly cleansing and de-greasing the treated area, the first layer of peel is applied. This is followed by a second layer that includes a compound of either or both Vitamin A (retinol) and Arbutase. The solution is washed off later at home. Patient’s may notice their skin feeling sticky and bearing a slightly yellowish tinge due to the Vitamin A. This is perfectly normal and washes off. The nurse determines how long you leave the solution on your face and instructs you when to wash it off.
The BB Peel targets the area between the basal layer and upper dermis, which stimulates collagen production and allows us to target and destroy the melanin pigments which cause spots and uneven pigmentation. Following the procedure, our Newport Beach BB Peel patients may feel a slight burn like a sunburn and can be red 1-2 days. By day 3 the peeling process begins and lasts between 5- 7 days. The degree of peeling varies between patients but in general expect mild to moderate peeling. A follow up peel kit goes home with the patient to continue to treat the skin for up to one month.

BB Peel Newport Beach
Unlike plastic surgery procedures, the BB Peel typically requires little to no downtime and patients are free to return to work immediately after their procedures.
However, since the peel is washed off later at home and can produce a slight yellowish tinge on the skin, some of our Newport Beach BB Peel patients prefer to schedule their treatment at the end of the day and then go straight home. The next day the skin might be slightly pink like a mild sunburn. We recommend no heavy exercise that produces sweat until the face has completely peeled (5-7 days).
Patients can comfortably return to their everyday activities without needing to take a few days off. It’s important to note there is a recovery period with regard to the healing process - as patients may not notice their full results for up to one month after the treatment and after completing the at home post peel kit. The results will vary with the strength of treatment and the area being treated.
