CONSULTATION, PREPARATION & PROCEDURE
The first step in the PRF process is a consultation with our experienced providers at Aesthetics MD. During your initial consultation, we review your medical history, assess your skin concerns, and determine if PRF is right for you. We then personalize your treatment plan, explaining the procedure, benefits, and aftercare.
PRF stands for platelet rich fibrin, and it is derived from your own body using a simple blood draw. After your blood is drawn, it is spun on a centrifuge at 1100 RPM for five minutes to separate the red blood cells from the growth factors and platelets.
Then, it is injected into an area on the face, including cheeks, under eyes, chin, temples, with either a cannula, syringe or the Hycoox system similarly to a dermal filler. PRF works to regenerate your tissues by stimulating your body’s natural collagen and elastin process which over time reduces fine lines, wrinkles, improves the appearance of crepe skin and acne scars.
PRF Gel follows a similar protocol except that it is spun at a higher speed of 2600 RPM for 7 minutes then heated to produce a gel which when injected does fill in deeper wrinkles much like a traditional dermal filler.
The entire process takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour, with little to no downtime required.

PRF RECOVERY
After a PRF session, patients may experience mild redness or swelling, which generally resolves within a few hours to a day.
PRF is a “lunchtime” procedure, meaning most patients can resume regular activities immediately following treatment.For the first few hours after your treatment, it’s advisable not to touch the treated areas. This reduces the risk of introducing bacteria and helps minimize the chance of infection. Protect your skin from sun exposure by avoiding direct sunlight and tanning beds for at least a week after treatment. Sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher should be applied regularly to shield your skin from UV damage and maintain collagen production.
For at least 24-48 hours post-injection, refrain from strenuous exercise or activities that can increase blood flow to the face, as this can exacerbate swelling or bruising.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
