CASE OVERVIEW
Even in high school this one-time competitive gymnast yearned for a flat tummy. “They called me the ‘Tubby Tumbler’ in high school because I always had a big stomach.” All she ever wanted was a flat stomach, so she started saving for a future tummy tuck by stashing any extra money she had into a jar. “I’m not a rich person. This is something I had been saving for my whole life.” Then menopause hit and her stomach got even worse. “The stomach doubled in size at incredible rates.” That’s when she started to double the savings in her tummy tuck savings account and search for the right surgeon.

Known as the “tubby tumbler” on her high school gymnastics team because of her protruding belly, this patient started saving for her dream surgery by putting her extra money into a jar. “I’ve always wanted a flat stomach. It’s the only thing I ever wanted.” Despite watching her diet and exercising her whole life, it never happened. During menopause she gained ten pounds in about a year and a half and all of it seemed to land in her abdomen. “People kept asking me when I was due. I was wearing baby doll dresses to hide my stomach.” Although she had been saving her money for a tummy tuck, she had no idea how to choose the right surgeon. CONSULTATION & ASSESSMENT
After waiting almost forty years to get a flat stomach, she finally scheduled a consultation with Dr. Anton based on a referral from a friend. In surgery, Dr. Anton first applied Curved Liposuction to the patient’s abdomen and waist to remove a total of 3.5 pounds. He tightened her muscle-facial wall using his internal triple plication that involves one suture down the midline and two on each side. This has a secondary benefit of drawing in the waist, reducing post-operative drains, and post-operative pain. He then removed 790 grams of excess sagging tissues to give her the flat stomach she always dreamed of having. While in surgery he discovered a hernia and repaired it.
